Cool DUCK! (...or grouse) -- It's the TOMAHAWK (new from Ray Samuels) - for IEMs!!!

OH NOOOO! I started this in "headphones forum" by mistake -- instead of "Amps Forum"!

HEY MODS! HELP!! PLEASE MOVE THIS THREAD TO "AMPS FORUM" -- Puhleeze! Thanks.

My gag order has just been removed.

Here's the link to the teaser page for Ray Samuels Audio's new "Tomahawk" -- a new portable amp -- even smaller than the Hornet -- designed for IEMs.

The Tomahawk from Ray Samuels Audio

No, I have not yet heard it. Ray said he would bring it to the November 4th NYC area meet. This one will be presented in its final, custom case -- not a caseless prototype.

He just created the page for the Tomahawk, so there are no details yet.

Also for the link-lazy here's a quote of the only text description available at this moment:

The Tomahawk...
"Dedicated for the ultimate listening pleasure of the IEMs,
6 weeks, at 10 hours, of listening, A DAY from 2 AAA batteries, at resolution you can never imagine.
More detail will unfold soon."

I don't yet have the details regarding the back panel, or any other features besides what's shown on the front. I am amazed that he was able to arrange the front panel layout to accommodate the huge Canare plug on what appears to be an ALO Jumbo Silk Dock? I have one, and that LOD looks just like mine.

Just for the link-lazy, I'll post the pics here as soon I upload them to my Photobucket account.

Obviously I'll post something after the Nov. 4th meet -- or from it if I can find a WiFi spot nearby.

I already asked Ray if he's planning some vivid colors in the future -- my request being racing green w/gold.

Cheers!

(Sorry Scrypt -- I know you hate emoticons. It's in my ebullient nature, and just percolates to the surface from time to time...)

Wow... how small is that thing?!

I wonder how this will sound and if it'll only be able to cope with IEMs? If it can cope with others fairly well then this could take over from the Hornet.

Though with the way that these amazing headphone amps are getting smaller and smaller how long before someone is able to design one that'll replace the headphone amp of the iPod or other DAP?!
